Mechanical Design Engineer (tj)
A large manufacturing company is seeking Mechanical Design Engineer to join their winning team and support engineering, international licensing, new business development, and the company's processing facilities with engineering and development needs. Work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Work closely with material suppliers in evaluating new chemical products. Design, document, and assist in the construction of custom-built processing equipment used for the dispensing and processing of adhesives, sealants, lubricants, and other liquid and powder coatings
Evaluate the Licensee's application requirements in order to develop the application means (processing technique)
Assist in the training of Licensees, and serve as a liaison between the Licensee and the Company on technical application issues
In supporting new business development, provide Global Engineering Development support to 80/20 customers while leveraging regional opportunities
Provide direct support to meet specific engineering request of key customers
In supporting Company's North American processing facilities, work with domestic customers in developing the means to meet their application requirements and provide engineering development parts
Facilitate the transfer of the resulting production to the appropriate regional processing facility
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelors' Degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in mechanical design, machine design, and machine building
Experience in using one of these specific 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or Unigraphics)
Experience in using Microsoft Office
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 15%)
Experience with industrial coatings, adhesives, sealants, and lubricants
Basic machining skills (lathe, Bridgeport, drill press, common hand tools)
Must have strong analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have a solid work history
